The special philatelic issue will be validated on May 4th.
(Sofia, April 26, 2006) The State Agency for Information Technology and Communications will introduce a special postal philatelic issue dedicated to the World Chess Champion Veselin Topalov. The issue includes a block with a postage stamp, an illustrated envelope and a special postal seal.
Author of the project is the painter Bogdan Benev.
The perforated issue of the block has a circulation of 24 000, while the parallel issue without a perforation has a circulation of 8 000. The envelope is printed in some 14 531 copies. And the nominal value of each block is BGN 1, 50.
The special philatelic issue will be validated by the Chairman of the State Agency for Information Technologies and Communications, Plamen Vachkov, at 11 a.m. on May 4th at the capital’s Grand Hotel Sofia. Invited to take part in the special ceremony are Veselin Topalov; the Chairman of the State Agency for Youth and Sports, Mrs. Vesela Lecheva; and the Deputy Minister of Defense Spas Panchev, who is also Chairman of the Bulgarian Philatelist Union
