The President Parvanov will open the second edition of the chess tournament

(Sofia, May 9, 2006) The world-famous Brazilian writer Paulo Coelho and the Holywood movie star Wesley Snipes are among the invited special guests for the opening of the international super chess tournament M-Tel Masters.

The official start of the competition will be at 18 o’clock on May 10 in Sofia Hall of Grand Hotel Sofia. The ceremony will be attended at by the President of the Republic of Bulgaria Georgi Parvanov, who is the patron of this year’s edition of the tournament.

Paulo Coelho arrived in Bulgaria yesterday after an invitation from Obsidian publishing house and is accommodated in the same floor of the hotel with the World Champion Veselin Topalov. The writer will have meetings with his fans in Helicon bookshops.

Wesley Snipes arrived in Bulgaria before the Easter holidays for shooting the American production Shooter. The Orlando-born actor became popular mostly with his movies White Men Can’t Jump, the Blade trilogy and Money Train.
